And let us not grow weary while doing
good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially
to those who are of the household of faith.
Gal 6:9 -10 |

Missionary endeavor is never
just the result of the missionary's efforts, it is overshadowed
by the prayers and the sacrifices made by the many who are in
the background. While people comment about my mission to Russia,
I know it would never have happened without you who have prayed
and given faithfully, some on occasions, and some consistently
over the years. |
|
- When I go to Vladivostok I tell the students
about you, and that they are in the classroom because of your
"ministry". And they are grateful and they do pray
for you in return. You do have a part in this ministry, maybe
not measured by hours or dollars, so don't give up when you think
the results are small. Your ministry of support counts towards
eternity for thousands of people you may never meet until then.
Please continue the journey with us.
-
Please continue
to support "Faith in Action" with your prayer and financial
support.

WHAT'S
BEEN HAPPENING AT FIA?
The first half of this year there were 17
in the course, and some of them graduated at the end of May.
From September there are 23 students, and I'm told they are a
mature and stable group of mainly men.
They are learning to preach too, preparing
sermons in the Homiletics classes and practicing them at the
church's rehab centre. They make prayer walks through Ugolnaya
village, praying for revival for their city and their Nation.

TRIAL
BY VISA
Over the years I have seen God do miracles
in providing my visas, often at the last minute. However the
situation in Russia is getting so bureaucratic that I was not
able to get a visa in time for a September trip. In order to
get a visa, I first must have a letter of invitation from Russia,
which must be approved by the Dept. of Religious Affairs, and
the Dept. of Internal Affairs, both of which have FSB (was KGB)
members. The latest tactic is a 40 day waiting period to discourage
people coming for Religious reasons.
I applied for my invitation to go in December
several months ago, and only after the church's lawyers applied
pressure was the invitation released last night - just 4 weeks
before my departure.
If I had gone with just a tourist or business
visa, preaching or teaching could get the pastors into much trouble,
but following the rules can be a very frustrating experience.
While I rejoice in receiving my visa, please
join me in praying for hundreds of other cases where the authorities
cause delays and frustration to churches, pastors and missionaries
all over Russia.

HUDSON
TAYLOR'S VISION
Several years ago I heard about this vision,
and it has been an encouragement to me that by ministering to
the young generation in Russia, the whole world might be impacted.
Read on....
|
|
In 1889, Hudson Taylor, British missionary
to China and founder of the China Inland Mission, was on furlough
in England. As he was preaching, he suddenly stopped and stood
speechless, his eyes closed. When he began to speak again, he
explained:
"I have seen a vision.
I saw in this vision a great war that encompasses the world.
I saw this war recess and then start again, actually being two
wars. After this I saw much unrest and revolts that will affect
many nations. I saw in some places spiritual awakenings. In Russia
I saw there will come a general all-encompassing, national spiritual
awakening, so great that there could never be another like it.
From Russia, I saw the awakening spread to many European countries.
Then I saw an all-out awakening, followed by the second coming
of Christ."

DAVID
HATHAWAY CRUSADE
David Hathaway is a British evangelist with
a great burden for Communist countries. This year he held crusades
throughout Russia, and 24 churches participated in the Vladivostok
Crusade during Easter. Our students were involved sticking up
posters, and ushering at the meetings. There were many who came
to faith in Jesus, and others were healed by the power of God.

BIBLICAL
SCIENTIFIC CREATIONISM
While I am in Russia this December, we are
privileged to have Dr. Grady McMurtry from USA who is a Biblical
Scientific Creationist. There will be meetings for him in Vladivostok
and Khabarovsk, as well as teaching at FIA.

GRADUATES'
MOVEMENTS
- Oleg F graduated
in 2003, and has gone to the Northern Territories of Russia and
will open 5 churches. After many years in prison, Oleg's heart
has been powerfully changed after finding Jesus and studying
at FIA in Vladivostok.
-
- The two Michaels:
Michael J is not as young as other students, but he does
have a passionate heart to start a new church. He has taken Michael
R with him, this Michael is a gypsy who could barely read
or write when he came to FIA. The other students taught him how
to read and write, and he was able to graduate. Now the two Michaels
are starting a new church in the Primorski Region.

- Igor G (2002
graduate) married Irina (2003 graduate) and they are now
planting another new church in the Primorski Region.
Nikolai K was a criminal who found the Lord. He went through
the church's rehab centre, then the FIA course, and after graduating
this May, he is now starting a new village church.

DIMA'S
UPDATE
Last month we brought you Dima's story, and
how we wanted to bring him to NZ for further study. Dima hasn't
made it yet, but is still hoping to come next year.
Dima's mother, Nina, pastor of the church
in Kamen Rybolov, fell and hurt her hand badly. She should have
had surgery for it, but because of allergic reactions to medication
this was not possible. While her hand heals, Dima has had to
help not only with the church, but at several menial jobs to
provide money for her hospital bills. Please pray for Nina's
recovery, for their financial needs, and for Dima to be able
to get a visa to NZ.
