Miriam Grossman MD is a board certified child, adolescent,
and adult psychiatrist. She writes and speaks internationally and is

Dr.
Grossman’s
mission is to highlight the dangers of the anything-goes, condom-based
approach to sexual health. With examples from cutting edge research,
she proves that sex is a serious matter, and can never be “casual,”
especially for girls. Dr Grossman claims that instead of teaching our
children biological truths, sex educators are lying to them, ignoring
science in favour of radical and dangerous social agendas.
Parents have every right to be upset with the current sex education
curriculum in our schools – most of it delivered by Government-funded
groups. Judging by the results of the current approach, it has been an
utter failure. New Zealand has one of the highest teenage pregnancy
rates in the OECD, our STD rates are out of control, and the number of
teenage girls having abortions is unacceptably high.
The current approach in NZ sows confusion about right and wrong and
says the moral absolute is – use condoms. But it’s not what parents
want. A recent poll found that three out of four NZ parents of young
children want the abstinence message taught in sex education. The
government should be demanding any government funding to go towards
resources which empower parents – not schools – to be the primary sex
educators of their children.

The Whitewashing of
Abortion
Dr
Grossman objects to the way her profession (Psychiatrists) approaches
abortion, saying that abortion is safe. But there are women who feel
sad, guilty and alone after an abortion. 1% suffer Post Traumatic
Stress Disorder. Why don't we hear about them? Health organisations
avoid this group, and say that Abortion Trauma is a myth.
Women are questioned on their
response to addictions and various trauma, but nobody asks about the
after-effects of abortion. Miriam talks about her discovery of Post
Abortion Stress Syndrome (PASS) and some of the ways to help.
